Town Hall Meeting – Coalition for Better Ads & initiatives to support the Better Ads Standards
19. Februar, 15:00 - 17:00 - kostenlos

Greg Mroczkowski, Public Policy Manager bei IAB Europe The Coalition for Better Ads is a global cross-industry initiative to improve consumers’ experience with online advertising and attenuate the proliferation of ad blocking. In March 2017, the Coalition released the “Better Ads Standards” for desktop and mobile web that reflect consumer advertising preferences in European and North American and markets, along with the comprehensive methodology based on which research was carried out. The Coalition has now announced expeditious rollout of the voluntary “Better Ads Experience” Program in Q1 2018 for publishers to certify their compliance with the Coalition’s Better Ads Standards, while Google is launching a broader initiative to apply the Coalition’s Standards to all websites through its Chrome browser. The participants will be provided with the background information on the Coalition, its Standards and consumer-centric methodology, as well as initiatives to support the Standards and ways to ensure compliance.
Jan Hardrat, Publisher Solutions Specialist, Central Europe, Google Building better ad experience for users to sustain the free & open web – Google’s initiatives to help sustain the ad ecosystem focus on two key areas 1) the reduction of demand for ad blocking by busting annoying ads and 2) Addressing existing ad blocker usage through user education and alternative funding choices.
