Klub77 live in Concert: The Cry
Sa., 21. Mär. 2015 21:00 @ ARGEkultur Salzburg , Salzburg
Informationen
Der Klub haut mal wieder mächtig auf den Putz! Und zwar mit The Cry! aus Portland/Oregon (USA). The Cry! Motto: Never suck!
Hochachtungsvoll, euer Klub!

The Cry! (Portland/Oregon)
The CRY! is a five-piece rock 'n roll band from Portland, Or. With diverse influences like Ramones, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Nick Lowe, and The Sweet, the band has re-crafted the 2.5 minute pop song for a new generation. The CRY! merges '50s style vocal harmonies, '60s pop hooks and the glam rock attitude of the '70s with the raw energy of youth.
Founded in 2011, the band has experienced remarkable early success! The CRY!’s self-titled/self-produced debut album (released in Nov. 2011) has sold-out several pressings (CD & 12" LP) and earned rave reviews from Rolling Stone, Maximumrocknroll and dozens of other industry sources worldwide.
The CRY! motto, “Never Suck,” has produced a professionalism, work ethic and sense-of-purpose typically seen in older well-seasoned acts. In three short years, the band's hard work, upbeat energy, hooky songwriting, and “DO-IT-YOURSELF” attitude have garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube (all self produced), and 8,500 Facebook fans. Additionally, the band earned and maintained #1 and top 10 rankings on ReverbNation’s local and national "Punk" charts for over two years.
In February of 2013, the Mooster Records’ (Chicago) release of The CRY!’s “Discotheque” on 7” vinyl became the label’s fastest selling release to date! In November 2013 SP Records (Tokyo) released another 7” vinyl featuring two tracks from the latest LP project “Dangerous Game”. Additionally, the band has been featured on several compilation releases and most recently recorded “ELO Kiddies” for Zero Hour Records as part of the label’s upcoming Cheap Trick tribute release.
In Late September (2013) the band went back into the studio with original Kingsman guitarist Mike Mitchell to re-record “Louie Louie” as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the release of this American rock classic! In Early December (2013) The CRY! re-recorded "Shama Lama Ding Dong" and "Shout" for the soon-to-be-released "Animal House of Blues" documentary.
In March, 2014 The CRY! released it’s second LP “Dangerous Game.” Again, dozens of critics (worldwide) responded with high praise.
